Favorites From... Patricia Briggs

 Patricia Briggs

Benedict Jacka is a fairly new author, but I like what he's doing. His first book is Fated, the second Cursed.  His hero is smart and smart-mouthed, who couldn't like him?

Jane Fancher's Blood Red Moon is a lovely book with more than a nod to Stoker's Dracula.  It is available for the Kindle on Amazon or on the website store here. It's self pubbed, but don't worry -- Fancher is a professional with a number of books from the NY publishers and her editor is C J Cherryh.  It's a lot of fun and her prose is like chocolate.

Robin McKinley is no stranger to fantasy readers anywhere, but just in case hard-core urban fantasy fans missed a terrific urban fantasy from one of my favorites --  McKinley's World Fantasy Award winning Sunshine is lovely.  And be careful, lest you be struck with the urge to make cinnamon rolls while reading it.

I also just finished Kalayna Price's Grave Memory about grave witch Alex Craft.  I really enjoyed her first two books in the series, but this is my favorite so far.

Thank you so much to Patricia Briggs for sharing some recommendations! I asked Patty to be a part of the feature because I love both her Mercy Thompson series and the Alpha and Omega spinoff books.  Mercy is favorite for many readers. She is a coyote shifter who lives among wolves and other supernaturals.  I, too, think Mercy is great, but I think I love the A&O books a little bit more.  Mercy is a bit more Urban Fantasy, while the Alpha and Omega books are paranormal romances, centered on a werewolf couple --Charles and Anna. The two series intertwine and intersect. I would whole-heartedly recommend them both!

Now, here is your chance to try one of Patty's recommendations. Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter to win Grave Memory by Kalayna Price.  US only. You can also enter to win an ecopy of Blood Red Moon by Jane Fancher. This one is international.

I love Patricia Briggs - no one does wolves better! I've read the first couple of Grave books by Kalayna Price. Now I can't wait to get the third.

I'm in the UK so, sadly, can't enter that giveaway :( Wouldn't mind giving Blood Red Moon a go though!

What a great giveaway :)

I keep on at my hubby, but he says giveaways, book signings and cons are not a good enough reason to move to the US :o

Interesting recommendations. I have actually had the cinnamon roll urge, but some of the other sumptuous dishes from "Sunshine" tempt me as much or more.
Quick note; Mercy Thompson IS NOT NOT NOT!!! a skinwalker! Those are evil magicians. Mercy is a Walker, or if you prefer, an avatar of Coyote, native American trickster god.

I haven't read any of these books, but I'll give grave memory a shot! It looks very interesting ;)

I'm with you, I love both of Patty's series, but I think A&O just edges out Mercy for me. Would love to win Grave Memory. I read the first book, Grave Witch and really liked it, but then somehow never picked up the next two.

I'm a huge fan of Patricia's books! I have not read any of her suggestions, but I have the Alex Craft series on my TBR list and I will have to check out the others as well.

Huge fan of Patricia Briggs! I have read Kaylana Price before and I love her work. I have not read anything by Jane Fancher yet.
