Favorites From... Elizabeth Hoyt
Elizabeth Hoyt
Elizabeth: I read mostly romance—historical, paranormal, contemporary, and suspense—and mystery/thrillers. Once in a while I’ll pick up a popular mainstream fiction novel.
Jen: Who are your favorite authors and do you have a particular title or series
from them that you love?
Elizabeth: I love Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files books and Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series. I haven’t read the second book in Loretta Chase’s Dressmakers trilogy (? I think it’s a trilogy) but the first one blew me away. I’ve been really eager for Eloisa James’ historical romances based on fairy tales, but I don’t know if they’re considered a series or not ;-). And! I’m positively chomping at the bit for Jo Nesbo’s next Harry Hole mystery.
Elizabeth: Loretta Chase and Eloisa James are two of the best historical romance authors writing today. Their characters are fresh and exciting and their voices—dear God, their voices! Reading them is like listening to Adele hit that one note just right and hold it.
Jim Butcher has everything: humor, twisty plots, angst, snark, characters that leap off the page, and incredible world building.
Nalini Singh is one of the few paranormal authors who manages to combine a so-real-you-can-touch-it world with really hot, visceral romance.
And Jo Nesbo is very, very dark. I’ve been reading dark thrillers/mysteries for decades and he still manages to shock, while at the same time combining prose that sings (not Adele. More like Jim Morrison.) Since he writes in Norwegian, I have to give credit to his English translator, Don Bartlett.
A big thank you to Elizabeth Hoyt for sharing these great suggestions! I asked Elizabeth to be part of this feature because I absolutely loved her latest Maiden Lane book, Thief of Shadows. It features a sexy virgin hero who a mild-mannered school-master by day and a masked vigilante at night. Click here if you would like to know more about it.
In the meantime, you can enter to win some of Elizabeth's recommendations. Just fill out the Rafflecopter forms below. Up for grabs: the first book in Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series, Slave to Sensation; Silk is for Seduction by Loretta Chase; and A Kiss at Midnight by Eloisa James. US residents only.

Both the Psy/Changling series and Dresden Files are on my list to try. Actually, I think I've got the first Jim Dresden book somewhere in my massive TBR mountain. Loretta Chase and Eloisa James are two of my favs although I haven't read their latest books.
Oh, I should also add that Elizabeth is a favorite of mine also, and I especially love that she writes in the Georgian era.
I thought the recommendations were great. I have read one of Psy-Changling series and thought it was wonderful. I haven't read anything by Loretta Chase or Eloisa James yet.
All of these books are on my TBR list. Thanks for the giveaway!
Hi
I love all these authors and I have two of these books.

Well aren't you so generous!!! I haven't read any of these...nope none. Guess I should look into that?
The publishers are so generous! I give total credit to Penguin & Harper Collins.
We'll have new author recs and giveaways every weekday this month. I hope you'll come back & check them out. :)
I'm in the middle of the Psy-Changeling series on audio. It's pretty good.
Thanks for a fun post and congrats to Elizabeth on the new release! Thanks for the awesome and generous giveaways!
Oh how I love Elizabeth Hoyt books! You are an auto buy author for me!!!
I recently discovered Eloisa James' books on audio and love 'em.
I think Elizabeth's recommendations are all wonderful, especially Eloisa James. Her books are an auto buy for me. :D
I love both Eloisa James - though A Kiss at Midnight was not one of my favorites - and Loretta Chase. Loretta Chase is responsible for my loving romance, which I think is a common refrain. ; )
I have read Nalini Singh before, just not that series. I have also read Eloisa James too. I have not read Loretta Chase though.

I agree with the Loretta Chase, for sure (although I don't know that it's the one of hers I would choose for a first time reader). Have yet to read any of the others.
