AAD Author Spotlight & Giveaway: Rosalie Lario
Joining us for today's AAD Spotlight is paranormal romance author Rosalie Lario. I have been following her sexy Demons of the Infernum series and I can't wait for the last installment to come out! Please help me welcome Rosalie to the blog.
Jen: You have two series out right now. Tell everyone a little about The Fallen Warriors.
Rosalie: The Fallen Warriors takes place in an alternate reality where angels rule over humans. The series follows twelve angels, the Fallen, who’ve been cast out of their society for their attempts to prevent the extinction of humankind. They band together to save the human race, who remain largely ignorant of the sinister designs the rest of the angels have against their kind. In order to preserve their strength and immortality, the Fallen must find mates with angelic blood. They turn to nephilim—the mixed-breed offspring of angels and humans—to feed their strength and aid them in their quest.
Jen: I've enjoyed the Demons of the Infernum, especially the dynamic among the brothers! Give everyone the skinny on those books.
Rosalie: Thank you so much! The Demons of Infernum series follows four half-demon brothers who work as interdimensional bounty hunters in New York City (and who every once in a while save the world ). It’s sort of like the television show Supernatural, but with demon protagonists.
My favorite thing about this series is the strong family base. These brothers have more than their fair share of familial conflict, but they’ll stick with each other throughout anything that comes their way.
Jen: I'm so glad you decided to give Cresso his own story! Do you plan to explore any other side character?
Rosalie: I had a blast writing Cresso’s novella, Heart of the Incubus. It has a different feel than the rest of the series in that it’s largely a paranormal romantic suspense, but it still features some of the cast of characters my fans have come to know and love (most notably the sarcastic bad boy Taeg). I don’t have any solid plans to feature other side characters, but there will be a few new people introduced in the final book, Call of the Siren, who have potential for their own story. So we’ll see!
Jen: What can you tell us about Call of the Siren? Any idea on when it will be out?
Rosalie: Call of the Siren is tentatively scheduled for release on August 7, 2012. All of the main characters will be battling a villain first introduced in Touch of the Angel—a deadly dark fae with plans to destroy the entire Council. On top of that, we’ll see a lot of tension between brothers Dagan and Ronin, which will stem from Dagan’s relationship with Lina, Ronin’s adopted sister.
Jen: What's ahead for the Fallen Warriors?
Rosalie: I have several more novellas in store, featuring different members of the Fallen. Expect a buildup leading to a final showdown between the Fallen and the rest of angelkind.
Jen: Have you made the jump to writing full time?
Rosalie: I haven’t quite made the leap yet. I like to say that I write part-time whenever I’m not teaching business law courses, but the truth is that writing has become a bit of an obsession with me. I do it as much as possible, and I love every moment of it!
Jen: If you had to pick, do you have a softer spot for angels or demons?
Rosalie: Oh wow, tough question. I find it fun to switch back and forth between the two. The Fallen are more righteous and dignified than my bad boy demons, which keeps things creatively fresh for me. If forced to choose, however, I’d have to pick my demons. They’re way too much fun!
Jen: Who has been your favorite character to write?
Rosalie: Out of all of the characters I’ve written, Taeg has been the most fun. I felt more tuned into his character than to any other I’ve written. Or maybe I just love his sense of humor. *grin*
Jen: Where do you get all the ideas for Taeg's t-shirts? Are they all yours or do you troll souvenir shops & cafepress?
Rosalie: I’d like to take the credit for all of them, but the truth is that only some of them came out of my crazy excuse for a brain. The others are actual T-shirts sayings (believe me, there are a lot of great ones out there).
Jen: Who are your favorite authors to read?
Rosalie: I have a lot of favorites, but if forced to pick a top 3, I’d go for Jeaniene Frost (totally kickass), Karen Moning (the dreamiest heroes ever), and Larissa Ione (more yummy demons *drool*).
Jen: What are you looking forward to most about AAD in New Orleans?
Rosalie: I’m so excited to meet all the wonderful readers who will be attending! I hear the Convention is a lot of fun and filled with amazing, colorful people, so I know it’s going to be a total blast. NOLA here I come!
Jen: Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me! I look forward to meeting you in NOLA!
Rosalie: Thank you so much for the invite. See you at AAD 2012!

I've heard so many good things about this series. It is on my TBR list. I have so many series that I've been reading but I think I need to move this one up in my list...lol Thanks for the giveaway and for having Rosalie on your blog.

how do you choose the cover and title of your books? :)
I had not heard about the series yet, but really enjoyed the review and author Q and A! I have added to my Goodreads shelves and hope to win, if not definitely read soon. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for the great interview and for the giveaway. Since you mentioned that you love Larissa Ione's books, and your books also have demon brothers, are you planning to do a spin-off series like she did (Lords of Deliverance as a spin-off from Demonica)?

Great question, June!!
I didn't know about this books, WHY? They sound great, I'm adding them to my TBR.
Great interview.
I wanted to pop in to thank Jen for hosting me on her site today. Andrea, Tanya, Kelley, and Cat, thank you so much for stopping in and commenting!
Sariah, I'm so looking forward to it!
Arianne, I try to make my titles relevant to something happening in the story, but honestly, it's really hard to choose a title. Generally it takes a lot of brainstorming between multiple people. As for covers, that's easy...who doesn't love a bare-chested hunk, lol?
June, I do have a few ideas for a spin-off. We'll see if it comes to fruition. That's basically dependent on the readers...let's hope for lots of them. :-)
Definitely my kind of story like. Thank you for running this giveaway.
I can't wait to read this series sounds so good. Marian
A choice between Demons and Angels is very difficult.. Ask me and I will veer towards Fallen ;)

Evil angels - interesting concept! I would have thought that the 2 should be mutually exclusive :p
I prefer demons too....It's the bad boy attraction thingy.
Ahhh, I've been really looking forward to your books! Great interview, and thanks for the giveaway!
Nora, Marian, Rene, Susan, Julianne, Yadkny, Daniela, Sophia, Foretta, Victoria, Tamsyn, Shelley, Joanne, Linda, CYP, thank you so much for stopping by! Wish I could see all of you at AAD!
Joanne, I can't get enough of funny T-shirts. Neither can my hubby...I actually borrowed a few of the phrases from shirts he owns. :-)
Linda, that's what most of us think, which is why I had fun turning the myth on its head. My angels aren't biblical creatures but another species of beings...and therefore they are capable of both good and evil. :-)
Great interview, Rosalie. We have the same favorite authors list, lol.
I really enjoyed reading Heart of the Incubus, and can't wait to get caught up on the previous stories in this series.
