Gordon & Ilona Andrews Chat

The amazing writing team of Gordon and Ilona Andrews did a fantastic livestream chat this afternoon. They talked about everything from Kate, to the Edge to the Alphas & Kinsman books. Here are some of the highlights!

• Derek will not get his own book in the Kate Daniels world.
• Julie's story will be part of a Charlaine Harris anthology called (?) Apple for a Monster, but there is no release date yet.
• Ilona regrets Magic Bites. Was unhappy with how it turned out. They were too green as writers.
• Ilona most relates to Aunt Bea among their characters; Gordon says William.
• **SPOILER** Despite Ilona's threat to shank him if he spilled any spoilers, Gordon leaked that Julie does not end up with Derek, but instead the Asian/ dragon guy that's in the Jim & Dali short.
• They have virtually no say in their covers. But they say that's ok, because they are writers, not artists.
• Anna will come back in the last Kate book.
• There will be a Jim and Dali book, published in 2013 or later.
• There is no cure for Dali's eyesight.
• Gordon says he'll write the hot tub scene in Curran POV if they win a Goodreads Choice Award.
• In fact, it seem seems that Gordon can be bribed to write more with some sort of action figures. 
• Gordon sees Eva Green as Kate. They see Chris Hemsworth as Curran.
• There are two Kate books left (not counting the Andrea or Jim/Dali books) and one Edge book
• They would like to do a George/ Jack book, but the Edge books don't sell as well and they didn't seem optimistic
• They run their love scenes by author friends, like Jeaniene Frost, to increase the heat & romance factor.
• There might be a full novel in the Kinsmen world, if time permits.
• May revisit the Alphas world with something self-published.
• When asked if YAs are in the future, Ilona said she worried they would cause irreparable harm to young minds.
