Review: From Here to Eternity

What a read! Talk about an interesting angle; Cuccaro blew me away. Considering that this is a short story, Cuccaro wisely used every word to convey the emotions and actions of her characters.

Waking up on what she thinks is a normal and mundane day, Rachel reads her own obituary then calls her husband with a single line "I’m dead." Nate, a researcher and the inventor of CYANAs is in love with his wife and will not be apart from her.  He'll keep her by any means necessary.

Outside from the ethics of what makes us human; Cuccaro presented an interesting and fun story about love and what we, as humans, are willing do to for it. I’m not going to lie -- I had the same concerns that Rachel had about her new life and the decisions that were made on her behalf. But the rebuttal from sweet Nate are heartfelt and endearing. He made a good argument about what he’ll do to be by her side forever. The only thing I thought was missing was more from Nate as the story is told from Rachel’s perspective.

There was a nice good amount of intrigue and mystery to add a little something extra, both inside and outside of Rachel and Nate’s relationship. Even the bad guys aren’t the stereotypical neanderthals that you would expect to find. Overall, I enjoyed this read and look forward to more from this author.
