Favorites From... Darynda Jones
Darynda Jones
Ahhh, I love recommending my favorite authors and their books, and I have to say, one of my very favorite authors is Jacquelyn Frank, so I think I'll pick on her. :)
I started late in her Nightwalkers series with ADAM, which is book 6, but it didn't matter. I loved it so much, I had to go back and read all the others, and oh, my gosh, am I ever glad I found her! Her books are sensual and exciting and very well put together. They are intelligent and thrilling and . . . well, I'll stop there.
If you haven't entered into the world of the Nightwalkers yet, may I recommend a bit of Jacob to get you started? Here is a quick blurb to whet your appetite:
Since time began, there have been Nightwalkers - the races of the night who live in the shadows of the moonlight. Love with humans is absolutely forbidden, and one man makes certain to uphold this ancient law: Jacob, the Enforcer...
For 700 Years, He has resisted temptation. But not tonight...
Jacob knows the excuses his people give when the madness overtakes them and they fall prey to their lust for humans. He's heard every one and still brought the trespassers to justice. Immune to forbidden desires, uncontrollable hungers, or the curse of the moon, his control is total...until the moment he sees Isabella on a shadowy New York City street. Saving her life wasn't in his plans. Nor were the overwhelming feelings she arouses in him. But the moment he holds her in his arms and feels the soft explosion of her body against his, everything changes. Their attraction is undeniable, volatile, and completely against the law. Suddenly everything Jacob has ever believed is inflamed by the heat of desire...
Bring on the night.

I know, right??? These books are amazing! And in case you are wondering, Jacob was written long before Twilight came out, and they were actually published a few weeks apart, so, no, Jacquelyn did not steal the names Jacob and Bella. LOL! What an odd coincidence though. Great minds, maybe?
I hope you will give this series a try. I promise you won't be disappointed!
Thanks so much to Darynda Jones for sharing her recommendation. I asked Darynda to be a part of this feature because her Charley Davidson books are equal parts funny, sexy, and action packed. Charley is the grim reaper who splits her time dealing with ghosts and working as a private investigator. And to turn up the heat factor, she's got it bad for the sexy son of Satan who has been watching over her for her whole life. The latest installment, Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet is out October 30th. I've read it. Pre-order now!
If you would like to win a book in Darynda's recommended series, here is your chance. Fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter to win Adam by Jacqueline Frank (US/CAN.)
