Banned Books Week Giveaway Hop
It's Banned Book Week. This is a yearly event designed to celebrate the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment. It's also intended to draw attention to the dangers of censorship by spotlighting efforts to ban books across the United States. If you would like to learn more about Banned Book Week, you can visit the American Library Association's website. To read about which books have faced the most challenges in the past year, click here.
Reading is all about personal choices. In that spirit, I want you to choose the book YOU would like to read from the Book Depository. If you win (and the book is valued up to $10), I'll buy it for you. This giveaway is international, so it's open to everyone who follows the site.
Thanks for visiting Red Hot Books. Don't forget to check out the other sites taking part in this great hop!

Thank you for an amazing giveaway!
Thank you for taking a stand on banned books. I think it's ridiculous that we even have banned or challenged books in 2011!

I love this banned book week event. As J Barrett stated that a lot of the books that are on this list were required reading when i was in school. There are a lot of the books on these lists that I would love. One of my favorites is Slaughterhouse-five. I love that book. I would have to choose Hungar Games. I already have Harry Potter and the Twilight series, which are great books.
Thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win.

Not entering giveaway but wanted to thank you for your post.
The American Library Association website for banned/challenged books--short list for classics only--includes To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee; 1984, by George Orwell; A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the Bell Tolls, by Ernest Hemingway; Gone with the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell; and Sophie’s Choice, by William Styron. The first four were required reading in my school days.
A commenter on Murder She Writes, however, took me aback by mentioning the Bible, which of course is banned in some places.
Hopping by to personally thank you for participating this year!

Thanks for participating in the blog hop.
I think other than parents no one else should have the right to decide what their children read.
