Eternal Rider: Giveway & Chat with Larissa Ione

This contest is closed. The winners are Raelena at Throu the Haze Reads, Tracey (AKA booklover0226) and Danielle Gorman.

If you haven't read any books by Larrisa Ione, now is the time. Her new book, Eternal Rider, is ushering in a new series, set in the same world as her fun and sexy Demonica books.  Here's look at the book's description:

His name is Ares, and the fate of mankind rests on his powerful shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the world falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but even he cannot fight his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.

I was fortunate enough to get an early look at the book. Click here if you would like to read my review.
Larissa is kicking off her blog tour today. And she was gracious enough to answer a few questions for me.

Q. The Paranormal Romance field is so popular right now, what sets the Demonica/Lords of Deliverance books apart from the others?
Larissa: Excellent question. To answer, I think that for the Demonica series, it's the setting. It's the first paranormal romance series set in and around an underworld hospital run by demons, vampires, and werewolves, so it's got a medical focus. The Lords of Deliverance series is set in the same world, but what sets it apart are the main characters, who are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. You don't see those guys (and one girl) in paranormal romance that often.

 Q.  Was there a defining moment that made you feel like you’ve “made it” as an author?
Larissa: Holding my book in my hands for the first time. That was all I ever truly wanted -- to have a real mass-market-sized paperback on bookstore shelves where all my favorite childhood authors live. Everything else -- the new sales, the bestseller lists, the invitations to speak at conferences -- has been gravy.

Q. You’re very interactive with your fans, what do you get out of that personally? Professionally?
Larissa: I'm a very shy person, and writing from home keeps me away from other people, so being interactive online really helps keep me from turning feral...collecting cats, growing a beard, and living in a bomb shelter like a hermit. (Okay, kidding about the beard and bomb shelter!) I just really enjoy chatting with readers. Professionally?  I suppose there's a benefit if people like my interaction, but I honestly don't do it for professional reasons. I've never been good at promoting myself, and I'm not comfortable with it, so all my interaction is done to keep in touch with readers and friends.
Q. What is your favorite among the books you’ve written (other than this one) –and why?
Larissa: That is a REALLY hard question. I'll have to go with Passion Unleashed, which is the third book in the Demonica series, because it was the easiest book to write. The hero, a half-vampire named Wraith, really was fun to put on the page.
Q. Will we ever have a Reaver book? Does he get his own HEA?
Larissa: Ack! This is the question I've been dreading...in a good way. :)  See, I have plans for him. Yes, I do...I have been plotting his book *wrings hands* for a long time...but here's the thing; it hasn't been contracted. So we'll see what happens!

So there you have it! I would love to see a Reaver book! But while we're waiting for Larissa to work her magic, how would you like your very own copy of Eternal Rider?  In the comment section below, tell me what it is about Larissa's books that attracts YOU as a reader.  The contest is open to all Red Hot Books followers in USA & Canada, so make sure you're following before you enter!  3 winners will be announced Friday.

Thanks to Larissa Ione for answering my fan-girl questions. You're the best!

You know, I love everything Larissa writes but there is something to these yummy demon dudes. There is a lot of substance to each and every one of them. She doesn't hold back either. If horrible things would happen they do - no sugar coating. And last but not least - Wraith - I just plain LOVE him!

I really enjoy the world building and how her worlds exist within our world. I love her attention to details, and how each group of paranormal creature has its own hierarchy and abilities. The demons Eidolon, Shade and Wraith are also yummy.

The first that attracts me to her books are the covers! I mean how can you NOT want to read something that has a cover like that. After that, it is what's behind the cover that gets ya. My favorite books so far has to be Sin Undone. I completely love that book! May just have to reread that one here soon.

Hi Larissa and Jen! :D
Thanks for the interview and giveaways too ^_^

Why I love Larissa's book is, her story is unique,I never read Demon had hospital before, but not just hospital activity, there lot of action and heart breaking moment too. I think the best from Demonica, beside Passion Unleashed, that I know is the most favorite of all Demonica readers, is Pleasure Unbound. It's feel like, the world just not white or black, but shade of gray. It's not right seems right, and wrong seems wrong. Evil is not all evil, and good people not all look good :D..

And Larissa write hot hero ever <3 (I love Doc E, may I replace Tayla? *wink2*)

There are several things that draw me into Larissa's books. These are in no particular order: The guys (and gals) are smoking hot...they are totally drool worthy! She has a way of writing that draws you into the story and makes you feel like you are part of the story yourself. I can't say that for every author. I personally get very invested in the lives of those I read about. She also tends to write about things that some (my family) think are forbidden and big no-no's like demons and can make they endearing!

I agree that it's hard to put into words why I love Larissa's writing so much, but definitely whenever I pick up any of her books, I'm hooked from page one. She knows how to pull you in & keep you there with her stories full of hot men, exciting plots, endearing characters, & plenty of action! & I especially love that even though it's a sexy novel, there's a viable story & it's GOOD!

There are a ton of reasons why I love her books, but the main thing would have to be the characters. Whether they're just side characters our the main characters I just love them!!

Wow, having to pick what attracts me is hard. I think I really enjoy the brothers and the uniqueness in their demon personalities and how in all the books you get to meet the side characters a bit before their own book, so its almost a continuous cycle. I also think everything about the books is creative and set apart like it's a whole different world with her books. To me there is nothing better than being able to get wrapped in an authors books and really see/understand/feel what is going on. Pretty sure I'm up to date on the Demonica series but I had no clue about the Four Horsemen series but it sounds delicious! :)

What about Larissa's books attract me? I think a better question might be what doesn't attract me? lol I mean lets face it, Larissa is a fabulous author, she creates great characters, she has Hot hero's in her books, I love reading paranormal books and that element attracts me. Then there are the great story lines with the way things always keep moving and capture your attention. And I mentioned the Hot hero's right? ;) Thanks for entering me in the giveaway.

The thing i like about her books is that they are different. You get tired of the same old paranormal romance, but her books have a different feel (in a good way of course) that makes me love them!
