I guess it just goes to show that everyone has different tastes. I also am not a fan of BDSM. I have read a few books that were light BDSM and even that was not my "cuppa tea" as you said :) And then when I went and researched for a minor spanking scene in my current WIP...holy cow!!! I've read menage with brothers sharing another partner, but no touching went on between siblings.

Do I find the thought of twins or family members doing the deed arousing? Nope. That's not one of my kinks. And even the thought of it happening in real life deeply disturbs me. In fiction, though? Meh - to each his own. I wouldn't specifically avoid a book with that theme like I do for the darker BDSM themes or some multiple partner pairings, but I damn sure would want to know it's included in the book.

Maybe that would change if I read one - I might find out it does cross my lines in practice in ways it doesn't in theory.

Like others have mentioned, my only experience with familial-contact incest was in the Flowers in the Attic series, which had a shocking prevalence of that theme. It's been quite literally decades since I had any exposure to that, and all I remember about those experiences were a general feeling of disturbed discomfort, but what I read of that series disturbed me on a lot of levels and I don't really remember how many books I read before I had to stop.

So - in theory, no squick factor on the incest erotica. Experience with it in Flowers, though, was not positive.Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01257007454939897691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185738780824295377.post-30845782907818663732011-11-28T19:19:54.140-06:002011-11-28T19:19:54.140-06:00I love reading m/m stories and i dont mind brother...I love reading m/m stories and i dont mind brothers sharing a woman but when said brothers have sex, thats a big no no to me!!!chilosa2004https://www.blogger.com/profile/04530592007401594253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185738780824295377.post-40001782305626100452011-11-28T17:35:40.161-06:002011-11-28T17:35:40.161-06:00I've never actually read one before...but I ca...I've never actually read one before...but I can tell you the idea doesn't really appeal to me. I really don’t care about people’s sexual preferences as long as they are consenting adults, but I draw the line at incest and bestiality. Incest is wrong from a lot of different points of view and I can’t believe that someone might find their sibling attractive, I can see how someone might fantasize about twins and siblings in general, there are lots of books were brothers share the same woman and even though I find that just as disturbing I can see the appeal.

Do you think m/m or f/f incest is more acceptable than m/f incest? Flowers in the Attic is one of the most infamous romance books and it has a lot of incest (the brothers do it, the brother’s parents do it and they were brothers as well, is like exponential incest) but it’s also a best seller and a very popular novel… Maybe people are more permissive about same sex incest because there’s no pregnancy risk? I didn’t see anyone complaining when Hugh Hefner had those twin sisters as girlfriends (I doubt he was having sex with them but still, the ick factor was huge). I think it’s disgusting regardless of how you look at it, but I’m not surprised by its popularity and I’m sure there are worse things out there.Briehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694232807189281284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185738780824295377.post-62209546198971534752011-11-28T13:44:57.968-06:002011-11-28T13:44:57.968-06:00I'm not a fan of the trope. I am an open minded person who likes a lot and even if I don't like it I don't bash a particular genre, but incest no matter if it is twins, triplets or not is just plain wrong. Brothers sharing, not the best plot, but that doesn't bother me since the brothers aren't touch each other.
